Loan Periods
The Libraries have uniform loan periods for all patrons. For further information, please contact Circulation. Patrons may renew most books one time, in person, by email (icirc@lsuhsc.edu or dentlib@lsuhsc.edu) or by phone (504-568-6100 or 504-941-8158).
- Books/Monographs (in Dental or Isché Stacks):
- 2 weeks; 1 renewal for another 2 weeks if no one else has requested the book.
- 2 weeks; 1 renewal for another 2 weeks if no one else has requested the book.
- General Reserve Books (behind the Circulation Desk)
- Overnight; may be checked out 1 hour before closing, due back 1 hour after next opening.
Fines for overdue materials are $1 per hour per item.

- Material borrowed on Interlibrary Loan follows the restrictions placed on the material
by the lending library, including due dates.

- Lost or Damaged Materials
- There is a $25 non-refundable, processing fee per item, plus a charge for the replacement cost and any shipping and binding charges where applicable. If no replacement is available, the charge is either a flat cost of $100 or the original list price of the book, whichever is higher. If a patron fails to return a CD that is included with a book, there is a flat fee of $25 plus the processing fee.
