According to LSUHSC Policy CM-36, CAP offers Responsible Alcohol Server's Training to educate students, staff, residents, and faculty about responsible practices in handling alcohol and to ensure safety on campus. Essentially, alcohol is prohibited in all campus areas at all times. An exception exists only when alcohol is served during special events authorized by the Dean, Chancellor, or other authorized representatives on campus, and when the guidelines outlined in CM-36 IV are followed (CM-36 III). Completion of Responsible Server's Training is required by law for individuals employed in establishments where alcohol is served or sold. By promoting responsible alcohol service practices, the training aims to enhance public safety and reduce the negative impacts of alcohol misuse. After successfully completing the training and passing the test, participants receive the responsible vendor license for Louisiana, which is valid for 4 years. Due to the limited number of participants, registration for the course is mandatory. Just contact CAP at (504) 568-8888 or ast@lsuhsc.edu.
